Let me just say that as a musician, playing for Maldon is like being a platelet coursing through the heart of traditional Irish music and dance; the rhythm of the sean-nós steps in concert with the music is as it was meant to be and when in flight, all is right in the world.

I have always found Maldon to be a fresh, vibrant and honest collaborator. She has worked with some of the biggest talents in the industry and (luckily for me) some of the smallest. I never got a sense from her that she ever delivered anything other than her very best at whatever it was she happened to be doing. I’ve watched her deal with a wide variety of people ranging from age 80 to 4. Everyone always got the same genuine and helpful attention from her.

I was lucky to take Irish Sean Nós dance classes with Maldon for many years, learning a great repertoire of steps and also digging in to some of the history about where and who each of the steps came from. What I enjoyed most about Maldon’s classes was the opportunity, as intermediate and advanced students, to help contribute to creating choreography and co-creating pieces with the steps we’d learned, some of which we later went on to perform at the Revels and other dance festivals. We felt empowered to dance pieces we’d created together, which made the whole experience far more engaging and fun! Maldon is passionate about dance and about sharing her knowledge and steps with others, whether beginners who have never danced a step before or established dancers coming from other dance mediums.

Nervously, I started attending dance lessons with Maldon a few years ago. I was immediately put at ease with her personable demeanor and simple palpable teaching style. I have enjoyed learning from her over the years and highly recommend anyone just learning, moderate or advanced to take a class and learn from an amazing instructor.

Maldon is an excellent teacher, great communicator, wonderful dancer and all around great human. Work with in any capacity if you possibly can.

I have worked with Maldon Meehan over the past 8 years in our 501C-3 Non profit organization providing community cultural arts & music events. Maldon has provided dance instruction & demonstrations on average 4 times per year instructing as many as 75 to 100 dancers, many of them beginners, for our monthly community Irish dances. We love Maldon's approach to teaching and her ability to put people at ease when instructing our dances. We look forward to continue to hire Maldon for our monthly events. Maldon is a great teacher and instructor. She is patient and kind, fine detail oriented, inspirational, effective and efficient, as well as prepared for every class that she teaches.
