I was lucky to take Irish Sean Nós dance classes with Maldon for many years, learning a great repertoire of steps and also digging in to some of the history about where and who each of the steps came from. What I enjoyed most about Maldon’s classes was the opportunity, as intermediate and advanced students, to help contribute to creating choreography and co-creating pieces with the steps we’d learned, some of which we later went on to perform at the Revels and other dance festivals. We felt empowered to dance pieces we’d created together, which made the whole experience far more engaging and fun! Maldon is passionate about dance and about sharing her knowledge and steps with others, whether beginners who have never danced a step before or established dancers coming from other dance mediums.

Her class is informal yet professional. Maldon clearly has a vast worldly and scholarly understanding of dance. I have worked with Maldon Meehan over the past 8 years in our 501C-3 Non profit organization providing community cultural arts & music events. Maldon has provided dance instruction & demonstrations on average 4 times per year instructing as many as 75 to 100 dancers, many of them beginners, for our monthly community Irish dances. We love Maldon's approach to teaching and her ability to put people at ease when instructing our dances. We look forward to continue to hire Maldon for our monthly events.
