Workshop | Sean-nós Dance

I’m delighted to be teaching a Sean-nós Dance Workshop in San Francisco on Wednesday, June 17, presented by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Cooley-Keegan Branch.

This workshop is geared toward dancers with some experience in movement traditions such as sean-nós dance, Irish step dance, tap, clogging, or other percussive dance forms. Together we’ll explore rhythm, musicality, improvisation, and the relationship between the dancer and the music.

Sean-nós (“old style”) dance is one of Ireland’s most expressive dance traditions. Rooted in individual style and creativity, it offers dancers the opportunity to develop their own voice while deepening their connection to traditional music.
